The 40 Foot

I need to dive into salty sea water and on my submersion be a boy again

And know how it feels to be happy and free

To swim in the 40 Foot, I will swim in the 40 Foot

I need to fly through the air like a Dolphin, and on my rehearsal, learn to shut out my fear

Then close my eyes take a leap of faith

And swim in the 40 Foot, I will swim in the 40 Foot

Floating in the sea, no need to think, lungs only breathe, eyes only blink

Drifting like a bird, no need to try, it happens by itself, and I am satisfied

Sandycove sunrise you warm me a low tide, before I go walkin’ through the People’s Park

For there you will see me, with a smile after

I swim in the 40 Foot, I will swim in the 40 Foot
